Heide Schatten is a Professor at the University of Missouri, Columbia. Her publications include advanced imaging methods, cellular and molecular biology, cancer biology, reproductive biology, microbiology and space biology. The latter included collaborations with NASA scientists and experiments aboard the Space Shuttle Endeavour to examine the effects of spaceflight on cytoskeletal organization during development. She has received numerous awards including grant awards from NASA, NIH and NSF. She has published over 185 papers, seven book chapters and edited several special topic journal issues and eight books with several more in progress.

Absolutely perfect and exactly what I was looking for! Has all the traditional names of what the dish is, how to prepare it, about spices and even Kurdish customs. Best part? Each dish as a picture so I know what it's supposed to look like! YAY!

Authentic and delicious

YUM. I bought a copy for my sister who loves to cook and needs a modified diet for her health. This is a new cuisine for her so it was interesting to see how many dishes were already somewhat familiar. The focus on fresh ingredients was perfect for her. She can get all the ingredients locally and at Whole Foods. I only wish we knew how to pronounce all the words!!! I liked that the author is actually Kurdish.

I loved this book and can't wait for the others to come out. The storyline keeps you interested through out the whole book. The character descriptions make them come to life! Red the pirate is my favorite, he is so funny and always has something to say, even if no one understands him lol.

If you like The Lord of the Rings or The Hobbit you will like this book.

The book is excellent. I have almost the full set of Construction Manuals published by Details. This book, like the others, is a valuable resource for those in the architecture/construction industry. The layout is efficient and clean, and the volume is packed with information. The case studies and construction details in the 2nd half of the book are excellent. If you have an interest in modern design and construction, I highly recommend the "Construction Manual" series.

Unfortunately, as has been the case with many book's i've purchased on Amazon, this item arrived poorly packaged and as a result the corners were damaged during transit. I don't understand why these items are not shipped with more care. For a $150 I expect the book to arrive in mint condition. Unfortunately three of the corners are slightly damaged.... which is frustrating.

Who would've thought that many of Kievan Russia's chronicles, tales, and epic poems would be in this one book? Brilliant! The texts seem almost ethereal and fluid like the Finnish epic, The Kalevala. Many of the poems and chronicles, including "Epic of Sukhan", deal mostly of Orthodox Christianity, hierarchy, the military, and way of life. Meanwhile, the epics, including "The Lay of Igor's Campaign" consist of religious prophets, quests, and war. Some poems and chronicles tend to drag a bit, but nonetheless, this book is for lovers of Russian culture (and for those who are introducing themselves to Russian culture).
