Loved It!

This is one of my favorite series. I loved the first two books and couldn't wait for this one to be released. I was not disappointed. It had a very different feel than the earlier books. Not bad, but definitely different. The earlier books were more "light hearted", this one had a darker tone to it.
We knew most of Seras backstory, in this book we learn about Cages past. Neither had a great childhood. They both suffered loss at an early age, Sera had her family to help her through, Cage, had no one, and ended up on the streets and later got hooked up with Seras uncle, which led to his involvement with the mafia.
They have a lot of issues to work through, trust being the biggest. And Seras running instead of talking next on that list. But they do get there, it's a difficult journey, but a necessary one.
This book was an emotional roller coaster. The first third of this story, was heartbreaking, I was in tears more than once. The middle of the story, we get back to the happy group dynamic. Xander as always is hilarious. The end of the book is frightening. It has been hinted at in the earlier books that Sera has a temper and a short fuse. She has grown up in and been trained to protect herself by her mafia family. And we finally see her snap and go off her carefully maintained control. She is one scary supermodel when off her leash.
I only had one small disappointment with this book, and that was the length of it. The story itself ended at 74% on my ereader. Then there was the short story "A Very Xander Christmas", then several first chapters of new authors. While I liked the extras I would have like more Cage and Sera.
I'm definitely looking forward to the next book in the series.

*Sigh* Cage...I had NO idea!!!

Oh sweet Lordy...Cage is Super HOT!!! We did not get to know him as well as Sera in the first 2 books but getting inside this man's head was an experience! He is ridiculously hot and loves with all his heart. WHAT is NOT to love??!!!

I fell in love with this series from the very first chapter of Falling Down. Anne Mercier has an amazing ability that enables you to suspend reality and dive headfirst into a story without needing to come up for air. And really, I never wanted to come up for air. Each book proves just how talented this amazing lady is and why she will continue to be successful.

If you have not read any of Anne's books, I suggest you download Falling Down, like NOW, don't wait, just do it!

If you have read Falling Down and Blush, then you don't need me to tell you what an AMAZING book Amplify is! Can't wait for April!

I really like the series so far.

I gather we are only cracking the surface. Even though there are a sh- boatload of characters they are easy to follow. They each have distinct personalities which makes it so easy to follow the story. The first two books focused on Lucy and Jesse. This book is about Sera and Cage. The subplot bothered me in the first book because it took a while to sort out who was whom.

It's a Rockstar fairytale which means the suspension of disbelief worked overtime to keep my eyes from rolling out of my head. I like the fact that they did the reverse career changes so the Oscar-winning actress becomes a rock star unlike Jerad Leto, the rock star who won an Oscar. That almost didn't work for me but because the story focused on the romance it became secondary to the point where I did accept it..

In this book the subplot moves front and center, which made for a shift away from the Rockstar fairytale. I wish they would have kept that a bit more on the surface. There were a few things that happened off the page of the story, mentioned but never seen, that bothered me. Any details would create spoilers. Let's just say there are holes in the story that I don't believe can be filled moving forward.

I must admit there was a character shift that should have put me off the person but surprisingly gave me a sense of satisfaction rarely achieved in other stories.

I highly recommend this book.

The book gives basic to the advance level explanation how biological partnerships of insects and flowering plants occured in nature. The interaction and partnership on the course of evolution gives a ideal example of plant-pollinator relationship. M

This book is a rare treasure

For botanists and all other plant lovers, this book is a wonderful resource. The author shares his love, deep appreciation and knowledge of relationships between flowers and their pollinators. The interdependence of plants and creatures is miraculous and marvelous.

Ken Howard, LCSW, author of, "Self-Empowerment: Have the Life You Want!" has been working as a psychotherapist for over 19 years and is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in full-time private practice in Los Angeles, California. He is a certified psychiatric social worker who was trained at the University of Southern California (USC) School of Social Work (MSW) and is also a graduate of the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA). This Book Was So Helpful

What I appreciate so much about this book is what a balanced and open approach author Ken Howard uses.

In order to have a healthy and productive life, all areas have to be in synchrony: mental health, career, finances, family, relationships/sex, community, and spirituality. If any of these are out of balance, it affects the whole. Example, someone could be in excellent physical health, but can't balance a checkbook. Eventually, this imbalance is going to spill over to other areas of this person's life.

Community is so important, because we have been put on this planet to do more than just earn a living and pay our bills. Feeling like you belong is very important as well as being close to the things you enjoy doing, if it's a living situation that needs to be sustainable.

I particularly liked the parts about spirituality, because it's something not talked about much in the medical/mental health fields. Ken does a great job of explaining spirituality (and distinguishing it from religion because they are very different), and how having some sense of it contributes to overall well-being.

I liked Ken's kind and genuine helpfulness and personal writing style. He reminds us that nobody is perfect, and that we are all a work in progress.

Wonderfully positive and encouraging!

Not only is this book laid out easily by topics and concepts, but I found the language and tone remarkably positive without sounding contrived. Reading it, you really feel like he's talking directly to you and genuinely cares about your well-being; not something I've experienced in similar books. The case studies were also very helpful in providing real-world examples of the kinds of steps he talks about. Would highly recommend to anyone who feels "stuck" in life, regardless of whether you're dealing with a major crisis or just feeling like you want more control over your existence.

A Great Life Skills Book

Ken's book is informative, educational, eye opening, valuable and well written. It's easy to understand and above all, helpful to everyone from all walks of life. It's laid out extremely well and covers areas of importance such as mental health, health, relationships and sex, career, finances, family, community and spirituality. I could pretty well guarantee topics covered will resonate directly with you or remind you of someone you know.

Ken has a very conversational way of writing that makes for an easy read. Even as he expresses crucial points and provides information he never forgets to pepper topics with his humor. How often would you have liked to have a teacher in school teach and make you laugh or smile at the same time?

I highly recommend Ken's book. Valuable tools and tips for everyone that wants to have a better, richer life.

Good essays, but book is poor value

These three essays are crisp, clear statements of Wallace Stegner's beliefs about the influence of the American West on American consciousness.
Please note, however, that these three essays appear with 13 others in Stegner's book _Where the Bluebird Sings to the Lemonade Springs_. With a total of 16 essays, that book is a much better value than _American West as Living Space_.

Required reading for all citizens.

In this short, succinct book, a collection of three lectures given in the 1980s, Stegner sums up the history, problems, and ever-so-bleak future of the American West. He paints the clearest and most inarguable case that has yet seen print against the overdevelopement of the West's water, land, and resources and, jarringly, recants his youthful appelation of the West as "the geography of hope."This should be required reading in every high school, every college, and every home in the West--make that the entire country--no, make it the world.

It is unique in its detailed coverage of all aspects of the Micro-ECDM process, as well as Spark Assisted Chemical Engraving (SACE). As such, it covers technologies such as chemical etching, micro-drilling, and other material removal mechanisms, high aspect ratio machining, design and construction of the machining apparatus, and a wide range of applications. The new edition compares Micro-ECDM and SACE with other micromachining technologies such as laser machining and traditional EDM. ECDM is used for machining of electrically non-conductive materials. Micromachining Using Electrochemical Discharge Phenomenon is a first attempt to collect the state of the art knowledge on micromachining using electrochemical discharges and to establish the fundamentals of this exciting technology. It presents Spark Assisted Chemical Engraving (SACE) -- or Electro Chemical Discharge Machining (ECDM) -- an unconventional and under-utilized technology which allows for relatively low cost micromachining of glass, polymers and other materials. .





Organized into two parts, the book first explains the fundamentals of SACE (in particular the Electrochemical Discharges). The second part focuses on the practical aspects of implementing this machining technology to show industrial researchers and engineers -- including those from fields outside of microtechnology (e.g., from life science) -- how to work with a mechanical workshop to build a simple machining set-up.

The possibility of modifying materials using electrical discharges has fascinated mankind ever since he observed the results of lightning striking objects in nature. We do not, of course, know when the first observation took place, but we may be reasonably sure that it was a sufficiently long time ago that many millennia had to pass before electricity was "tamed", and subsequently put to work modifying materials in a systematic, "scientific" way-as exemplified by Humphrey Davy's electrolysing common salt to produce metallic sodium at the Royal Institution in London.




But these are essentially faradaic processes (named after Davy's erstwhile assistant Michael Faraday), and such processes are also used extensively today for (micro) machining, as exemplified by electrochemical machining (ECM). They are relatively well known, and are applicable to conducting workpieces. Far less well known is the technology of what is now called spark-assisted chemical engraving (SACE), in which the workpiece is merely placed in the close vicinity of the pointed working electrode, and is eroded by sparks jumping across the gas bubbles that develop around the electrode to reach the electrolyte in which everything is immersed, the circuit being completed by the presence of a large counterelectrode.





This technology can therefore be equally well used for workpieces made from nonconducting materials such as glass, traditionally difficult to machine, especially at the precision micro level needed for such applications as microfluidic mixers and reactors. The development of attractive machining technologies such as SACE is in itself likely to play a decisive part in the growth of microfluidics-based methods in chemical processing and medical diagnostics, to name just two important areas of application.





Since, as the author very correctly points out, knowledge about nonfaradaic electrochemical machining methods is presently remarkably scanty within the microsystems community, this book is conceived as a comprehensive treatise, covering the entire field, starting with a lucid explanation of the physico-chemical fundamentals, and ending with a thorough discussion of the practical questions likely to be asked, and an authoritative exposition of the means to their resolution.





I therefore anticipate that this book will significantly contribute to enabling the rapid growth of micromachining of nonconducting materials, for which there is tremendous hitherto unexploited potential.

Printing issues have been fixed for this book

I was interested in purchasing this book, but was nervous because of the printing issues others had mentioned. I decided to buy it since the author has a website that provides the complete text of chapter 1, which had the majority of the errors. When I received the book I was pleasantly surprised that the errors have been fixed! Just wanted to pass the word along for others who might be unsure about ordering.

Great Book for someone to look under the hood!

Electronics has been a hobby for me most of my life. Radio frequency has always been a world apart- things just work differently at these higher frequencies. This book is a good guide to getting in and trying to make things, and learning how to measure stuff so that you can tell if you are making progress or not. Radio is not magic, but there is a sense of the magical about RF, even to someone who has spent plenty of time with digital or even non-RF analog electronics.

Hayward and friends have an engaging style. I also picked up Hayward's more academic book on RF design used. It's a full-on textbook and not for everyone, unlike this book, which is at least for everyone who wants to make changes to circuits at radio frequencies and get some idea of what they have made better or worse.

Great information terrible printing

I would like to echo what others are saying about this great book.
It has tons of great information that is well explained.
One big problem is tons of missing words.
It really bothers me when I spend this amount of money for such a poorly printed book.
At least they could make a list so I could fill in the missing words,
many of which you have no way of telling what is missing.

Even if your professor does require this book, all the Restatements, UCC, and CISG are available online. Just type it into Google. I think I used the book once.

It has a little bit of everything from U.C.C. to samples from the Restatements and the C.I.S.G. Not very big and is handy

If you are having problems understanding contract law, this book really won't help all that much. All it has is a compilation of laws in it and these laws are not "dumbed down" so 1Ls can understand it better. My prof required it, but I could have gotten this stuff online for a heck of a lot cheaper.
